Job Overview
TRIUM Environmental Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled AI System Specialist to join the Artificial Intelligence-Based Sensor and Control Technology (AISCT) Business Unit. This position is responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and technical support of TRIUM’s AISCT systems, ensuring reliable operation, performance optimization, and customer satisfaction. In addition, the AI System Specialist will assist in the research and development of the ongoing development of AI powered environmental applications.
This multidisciplinary role combines equipment operation, system maintenance, AI data integration, and collaborative R&D, bridging technology and environmental expertise.
Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of AISCT systems used in rentals, licensing, and pilot projects.
- Provide technical support, documentation, and feedback to ensure stable performance and client satisfaction.
- Manage inventory, supply chain coordination, and QA/QC for AISCT units and components.
- Assist in the integration and evaluation of AI databases, environmental datasets, and machine-learning algorithms for ongoing AI development projects.
- Participate in R&D activities, including data collection, validation, and pattern analysis to improve system intelligence.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to identify and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
- Prepare and maintain technical reports, performance summaries, and training materials.
- Deliver training and operational guidance to internal teams and external clients as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in AI systems, environmental engineering & consulting, or technology development.
- Strong understanding of AI and machine learning applications, including software, hardware, and Large Language Models (LLMs) in environmental or engineering contexts.
- Hands-on experience with electronics, sensors, and system troubleshooting for automated or semi-automated technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance and technical support for complex environmental or engineering systems.
- Experience with research and development (R&D) in applied AI systems and/or environmental technologies.
- Knowledge of environmental site assessment and remediation, particularly contaminated soil and groundwater management, will be considered an asset but not mandatory).
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel for field maintenance, training, and project support as required.
